more on ice
Continuing on when you are experiencing an ice storm that knocks out your power.
When I said you needed some water stored up, that was assuming your water comes from a source that uses electricity, such as a well pump. But actually even if it is public water without heat the pipes are likely to freeze and you would need water stored up also. Now onto food.
If your freezer is well stocked and you don’t open the door it will stay good for a few days. Four or maybe 5. If the weather is real cold outside you could put some jugs or gallon buckets of water outside to freeze and keep switching them out in the freezer. Or even put your frozen goods in coolers and put them outside or in a garage.
Tomorrow I will share about cooking possibilities.
