telling the weather country boy style
We have been given a couple deer by friends. We don’t hunt and actually like the deer who are on our land. But when someone else hunts them and asks if we want them we will take them. Deer meat is wonderful. The weather this year has been unseasonably cold. It is in the twenties as I write. But one thing we have found this year with the deer we have processed is no fat. Usually you can get somewhat of an idea how cold the winter will be by how much fat is on the deer. So it is surprising that there is so little fat, and it is soooo cold so early. I can only hope that this means the coldest part has already passed us.
